“I was so afraid and helpless. At points in the birth, it was like I lost all control.” – Amy, mum to Elina
Can you relate to Amy? 1 in 4 mums can. Research tells us less about how those who do not identify as ‘mums’ are impacted by birth trauma, but of course they are. And partners are affected by these experiences too. Perhaps it’s not the birth itself which felt deeply distressing. It might have been when you were trying to conceive, because you faced pregnancy loss, pregnancy sickness, had difficulty breastfeeding, birth complications, injuries, bonding challenges or something else unique to you. No two experiences are the same and your story matters. We’re here to help you find the right support.
